Bentinho discusses many different topics during this retreat. One of the topics that was raised is the effect of non-dual embodiment when one has significant trauma in their history. Here is a quote by Bentinho on this topic from one of the sessions:
"People are afraid of their traumas because they still believe that painful experiences actually exist. The belief that a painful experience means one is harmed has been generated over time; it is an assumption that has not been fully cleared up. People are somewhat addicted to non-dual views because these views give them permission to not have to look at what comes up, to not have to go through stuff, to not have to experience pain anymore. It is a form of denial. So yes, most non-dual-practitioners are afraid of pain. They are afraid to suffer, and at the core of that suffering is the belief that lack exists when they feel pain.”
